Meridian Blue is seeking safety-conscious, hardworking, and dependable individuals who want to advance their careers in the wireless telecommunications industry. Tower Foremen are responsible for leading a crew in daily operations to safely construct, install, and maintain communication towers and support structures and are a vital part of Meridian Blue. Eligible applicants will have at least 4 years of industry experience and two years of foreman experience.
Pay is negotiable, based on experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to)
Leadership: Must be able to arrive at work prepared each day to effectively lead your team in the safe and timely completion of quality work. Set an example to your crew by following company policies and procedures, especially as it relates to safety requirements. Manage the on-site day-to-day tasks and the entire scope of work for each job assignment with little to no supervision.
Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with your crew, supervisor, and the customer – schedules, changes in the scope of work, redlines, status, personnel issues, etc.
Time Management: Must be punctual, prepared, and ready for what the day may bring – and make sure your crew is too.
Safety: Knowledge and recognition of the hazards associated with tower construction and how to manage a crew to perform the work safely in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations – regardless of the structure/setting.
Testing/Troubleshooting: Must be capable of utilizing Anritsu, Andrew, PIM, JDSU, Azimuth, antenna, and other equipment as necessary.
Teamwork: Must be able to give direction, delegate tasks, adapt quickly, work in a team environment, and reinforce company culture at all times.
Administrative: Ability to complete various administrative tasks and paperwork including daily reporting, JSAs, customer/job-status documentation, crew time-sheets, close-out documentation/deliverables, identify materials and other resources needed to complete projects, red-lines, incident reports, and performance reviews, etc.
Heights: Ability & willingness to climb towers, when necessary, at heights up to 500 feet, and work freely.
Travel: Willingness to work overtime and travel from home (including out-of-state) for up to 4 weeks at a time and weekends.
Skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to create and complex maintain spreadsheets and documents.
Must be able to document and present work in a clear and concise manner
Highly organized and detail orientated
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Above average analytical skills
Time management skills; must be able to meet deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
4 years of industry experience, including two years of Foreman experience
Ability to lead all facets of tower work while on-site
The ability for weekend and evening work at all times
Valid drivers’ license with reliable transportation
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Math and computer skills
Ability to read blueprints and other customer documents
Ability to read, understand, and follow company policies
Ability to pass a background check, DOT physical, and abide by Company Drug Testing Policy
Ability to pass and maintain CPR/First Aid AED, OSHA 30, RF Radiation Safety Awareness, Competent Climber Certifications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Tower Foremen are generally assigned to work in industrial/construction work environments. Essential job functions and environmental factors when working in these settings include, but are not limited to the following. Regular heavy lifting/carrying of 50+ pounds, pulling (straight and hand-over-hand), pushing, reaching/using tools above shoulder/head, repetitive hand movements: use of fingers/both hands, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, squatting, bending, ability to work at heights up to 500 feet, climbing, operation of truck/heavy machinery, ability to distinguish basic colors, operation of power/hand tools, read documents & maps (in English). Working outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures (cold & heat).
