Civil Construction Laborer

General Summary of the Position
Perform and oversee tasks involving physical labor at telecom job sites as well as prepares materials at warehouse location. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May operate excavator, skid loader and other equipment. May clean and prepare sites. All job duties will be performed safely, effectively and efficiently as directed by Foreman to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Essential Functions

- Various construction activities including, but not limited to: excavation, underground utility installation, running small earth moving equipment, rebar fabrication and tying, concrete placement and finishing, installing electrical equipment and conduit, electrical and Telco wiring.
- Clean and prepare site, tools and equipment. Maintain organization and good condition of tools and equipment on site, in the vehicles and in the warehouse or storage.Operate and maintain a variety of equipment under the direction of the Crew Leader in a safe and responsible manner.
- Load, unload, identify and distribute materials to appropriate location according to the Crew Leader’s direction.
- Perform as part of a team carrying out assigned tasks. Identifying and assisting as needed.
- Wear safety clothing, such as gloves, hardhats, eye protection, seat belts, etc. when performing duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Manage and organize crew fairly and efficiently while maintaining safety and high quality work
- Communicate with supervisor in a professional manner regarding daily job progress and needs on a regular basis
- Recognize and prevent potential hazards on the jobsite
- Produce quality work in a safe and timely manner
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all team members and clients.
- Determine labor and materials required for project completion.
- Identify and utilize personal protective equipment according to task and site location.
- Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Communicate orally as well as in writing.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment and tools.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral directions.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
Education, Training and Experience
1-20 years experience in wireless construction industry
Strong electrical background preferred but not mandatory
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
Work Context
Must be able to perform job duties in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
Special Requirements
Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass a driving record check
Must be able to travel on a weekly basis
All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical and criminal background check prior to employment.
“Out of Town” candidates must be willing to travel to and from the warehouse and/or relocate at their own expense.
