Job Description:
The Tower Technician II will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless network systems. This role involves physically demanding tasks, including climbing towers up to 300 feet, running AC & DC wiring, performing quality assurance (QA) audits, and installing tower-top radio equipment. The position frequently requires climbing, twisting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must regularly lift and/or move at least 50 pounds. This is a labor-intensive and safety-sensitive position.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists with the construction and upgrades of cellular towers.
Tower Top Radio Installations.
Installing fiber and coaxial jumpers.
Performing PIM, Sweep, and Fiber testing.
Installing ground equipment.
Decommissioning equipment.
Technology Modernizations.
Running AC & DC wiring.
Performing QA audits.
Troubleshooting antennas, coaxial lines, and equipment.
Work documentation through the use of digital photography.
Utilizing software programs for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
Collaborate with outside installation contractors and internal departments to complete work assignments involving microwave, antennas, towers, coax cabling, and associated equipment.
Work closely and professionally with the Foreman, Construction Management, and Project Management team.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to the Phoenix Metro Area.
Must supply hand tools. (company list available)
Must be open to travel both in and out of the state.
Must be able to operate power tools, hand tools, and perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks.
2-4 Years Experience in Wireless Construction as a Tower Technician.
Experience with RF, Cabling, Connectors, and common cellular knowledge.
Utilizing software programs daily.
Climbing Certification- Comtrain or Equivalent.
Anritsu Certification.
OSHA 10 Certification.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Must be comfortable working in an elevated environment.
Possess the ability and desire to work in a team environment, maintain quality work, and execute safety at all times.
MUST be able to pass a background and drug screen and have a clean driving record.
