Diesel Field Technician/Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Summary: We are looking for a skilled Diesel Field Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain diesel-powered heavy equipment in the field and shop. 
The ideal candidate has experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, and general equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment. 
• Perform field service repairs at job sites. 
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues. 
• Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, and fluid checks. 
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, hoses, pumps, brakes, and other parts. 
• Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computer systems. 
• Complete service reports, repair orders, and parts requests accurately. 
• Communicate with supervisors and crews about repairs and job status. 
• Keep service truck and work area clean, organized, and safe. 
• Follow all company and job-site safety rules. 
• Operate equipment as needed to test repairs. 
Qualifications
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or field service experience preferred. 
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains. 
• Ability to read schematics and service manuals. 
• Must have basic tools; specialty tools may be provided. 
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred. 
• Ability to travel to job sites and work outdoors. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. 
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work around heavy equipment. 
Preferred Experience
• Experience with equipment brands such as CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Case, Bobcat, Hitachi, JCB, or similar. 
• Welding and fabrication experience. 
• DOT inspection or crane/forklift repair experience. 
• Computer diagnostic software experience. 
• CDL Class A
