Field Technician

Summary

As a Field Technician, you will work alongside experienced Lead Technicians to prepare cell sites, install and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment, perform quality inspections, and support the successful completion of field projects.

Responsibilities

The Field Technician is responsible for:

• Installing RRUs, antennas, Raycaps, hybrids, squids, and related telecommunications equipment
• Running coax, power, fiber, and hybrid cables
• Testing lines using sweep, PIM, and fiber testing equipment
• Preparing and building indoor and outdoor cell sites
• Preparing new cell site equipment according to carrier RF engineering designs
• Completing on-site preparation for new cell sites, sector additions, and cabinet additions
• Supporting new cell deployments, RF upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Identifying alarms, diagnosing issues, and assisting with repairs
• Operating test equipment and related software programs
• Completing all work according to CIK and customer quality standards
• Following all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements
• Reporting and maintaining accurate inventory counts
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of company-issued vehicles
• Properly maintaining company-issued tools, equipment, and safety gear
• Providing accurate daily updates to scheduling and project management teams
• Maintaining all required safety certifications and compliance standards

Working Conditions

Candidates must be able and willing to work in the following conditions:

• Day, night, swing, and weekend shifts as scheduled or required
• Outdoor and indoor environments
• Heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions
• Elevated work areas, confined spaces, and subterranean locations
• Local and out-of-market assignments, including possible out-of-state travel
• Long hours standing and working on their feet
• Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds
• Bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive physical tasks

Qualifications

• Previous telecommunications or tower industry experience is preferred, but not required
• Entry-level candidates who are motivated to learn are encouraged to apply
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to safely work at heights
• Ability to meet the 260-pound standard component rating for climbing safety equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn
• Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule as needed
