In-Building Wireless RF/DAS Engineer Full Time

Job Summary

ANS is seeking an In-Building Wireless RF/DAS Engineer who will be responsible for designing, deploying and optimizing wireless communication systems. They are responsible for providing hands-on engineering support on a range of in-building DAS projects where they create network performance models, test the efficiency of existing networks, and ensure that regulatory standards are met. The RF Engineers work closely with internal teams to bring a project from inception to completion, meeting, or exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Field collection of RF data using phone and scanner-based platforms.
• Initiate and develop large scale RF designs, model them using iBwave software and perform RF validations & capacity analysis.
• Develop equipment lists and assemble material and labor estimates for potential projects.
• Prepare and maintain necessary documents used throughout a project’s lifecycle, including but not limited to schedules, tracking, budgets, estimates, etc.
• Prepare consolidated user-friendly documentation that includes entire project information and deliver highly technical presentations to the customer.
• Perform integration and commissioning of wireless systems to support our customers’ requirements.
• Perform DAS maintenance, including system fault analysis and mitigation. Provide remote and onsite support for trouble tickets.
• Engineers must stay up to date with the latest industry advancements, to ensure we are providing high-end solutions to customers via continuous improvement in our designs and standards.
• Use a project specific view to improve efficiency and increase profitability for the company
• Implement collected data and apply it to improve existing designs and create new best practices.
• Mentor team engineers with less experience and cross-train other co-workers in areas of expertise.
• Manage customer relationships and ensure confidence
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Skills 

• Ability to persistently troubleshoot problems with equipment and devices.
• Strong Android phone and tablet skills.
• Skill in MS Excel required.
• Strong customer communications skills.
• Team player with a “do whatever it takes” attitude.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Education & Experience/Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years of in-building wireless experience, preferably on the survey, design and commissioning side.
• Current iBwave level 3 certification.
• Expertise with RAN and DAS OEMs required (JMA, Commscope, SOLiD and Corning) and Wireless technologies (LTE, CDMA, UMTS required. 5G preferred).
• Optimizing and troubleshooting cellular or public safety DAS (preferred both).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The employee must be able and willing to travel locally to reach customer and network locations or local events and regularly work in outdoor weather conditions. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a Full-Time Exempt position. Days and hours of work are Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An appropriate level of communication about expected hours of work between the remote employee and supervisor will be agreed to as part of the discussion process and will be more formal during the trial period. With on call duties as assigned relating to ANS Advanced Network Services user issues after hours’, weekends, and holidays.
