In-Building Wireless RF/DAS Engineer Full Time

Job Summary 

ANS is seeking a skilled and motivated In-Building Wireless RF/DAS Engineer in our Mid-Atlantic region, servicing this region and ANS’ service area. The In-Building RF/DAS Engineer will act as the system designer from benchmarking and post-processing through design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced communication networks for in-building and outdoor spaces to meet specific project needs.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead RF designs using IBWave software.
• Create detailed design packages and proposals.
• Provide QA / QC peer review of designs.
• Assemble material and labor estimates for potential projects.
• Field collection of RF data using phone and scanner-based platforms.
• Perform integration and commissioning of wireless systems.
• Work extensively with equipment from major OEMs, including Corning, CommScope, JMA, SOLiD, and others.
• Design, engineer, analyze, commission, configure, and test RF and DAS projects.
• Perform site surveys to evaluate location and identify requirements for system design, including RF data collection.
• Interface directly with customers to update on project delivery, obstacles, milestones, acting as a technical resource.
• Support various configurations throughout projects including fiber, power, and equipment.
• Identify and resolve RF interference issues across various frequency bands.
• Design/draft submission packages using AutoCAD for new network infrastructures to complete project contracts.
• Support technical documentation such as error logs, statements of work, technical requirements, spec sheets, and manuals.
• Work with senior management to identify budget, scope, timeline, project specifications, materials, and more.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise for maintaining, troubleshooting, and turning-up DAS, Wi-Fi, and fiber optic networks and nodes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Skills

• Ability to persistently troubleshoot problems with equipment and devices.
• Strong Android phone and tablet skills.
• Skills in MS Excel preferred but not required.
• Strong customer communications skills.
• Team player with a “do whatever it takes” attitude.

Education & Experience 

• Minimum of 2-year degree in engineering or equivalent work experience, Bachelor or Advanced Degree preferred.
• 4 years of in-building wireless experience, preferably on the survey and design side.
• Minimum of iBwave level 1, preferred level 2 or 3.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: 

The employee must be able and willing to travel locally to reach customer and network locations or local events and regularly work in outdoor weather conditions. Compliance with all Company safety procedures is a requirement.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a Full-Time Exempt position. Days and hours of work are Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An appropriate level of communication about expected hours of work between the remote employee and supervisor will be agreed to as part of the discussion process and will be more formal during the trial period. With on call duties as assigned relating to ANS Advanced Network Services user issues after hours’, weekends, and holidays
