The Impact this role will have
The Licensed Electrician is responsible for building sites in accordance with the scope of work outlined in construction documents, including but not limited to civil work required as well as electrical system installation. They are required to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics as necessary to effectively complete the scope of work. They may supervise the work of others or may perform the work themselves, as part of a team or independently.
What your day will be like, but not limited to:
Carries out a variety of construction tasks, such as site preparation, equipment installation and grounding, demolition work, landscaping, fencing, and facility maintenance and repair.
Installation, repair, and troubleshooting of secondary power electrical systems.
Installs, connects, and tests grounding systems, both underground and above ground.
Perform pre-operational safety checks on tools, equipment, and vehicles before use, and keep everything in good operating order.
Pouring, forming, and finishing concrete.
Light Carpentry work
Grading, landscaping, and fence construction (with or without motorized equipment)
Does ditch filling, digging, and trenching.
According to the Crew Leader’s direction will inventory, load, unload, identify, and distribute materials to the appropriate location.
Runs Hoffman boxes, racks, DC drops, EMT pipes, interducts, CAD welds, wiring T1s, smoke detector installation, bus bar installation, Unistrut, NEMA enclosures, and grounding.
Performs a range of construction tasks, such as excavation, underground utility installation, rebar fabrication and tying, concrete forming, placement, and finishing, ice bridge installation and grounding, and site preparation work, including small-scale grading and ground cover placement, landscaping, and facilities maintenance and repair, such as doors, coax ports, cable trays, and other items in shelter site.
Demolition work to include cabinet and conduit/wiring removal, concrete removal, ice bridge removal, and the use of fill dirt, stone, or other materials to restore the landscape to grade following demolition.
Installs, tests, and repairs fiber cable in a variety of settings.
The specialized skills, experience, and education you will share with Betacom
Licensed Electrician EL01 (Required)
One year certificate from college or technical school or 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Electrician Apprenticeship/Journeyman Certificate
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Confidence to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Strong Mathematical skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. As well as the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of electrical tools and machines used in settings.
Should possess strong manual dexterity
Ability to recognize wires by colors
An acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license are required.
