Job Summary: The Lead Inspector performs telecom structure inspections and mapping, including climbing towers up to 450 feet and collecting site data per TIA standards. Responsibilities include capturing and reviewing photos for turnover packages, submitting reports via laptop/tablet, maintaining truck inventory, and escalating safety or structural issues as needed. The role also includes daily reporting, completing inspection forms, participating in weekly calls, and relaying updates to tower crews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular Travel & Climbing 200'-300' Towers
  • Complete all necessary safety training provided through Elite ICT
  • Complete all training provided by Elite ICT
  • Primary job duty will be the inspection of telecommunications towers
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of Antenna & Line systems
  • Ability to assist in the installation of radio units
  • Ability to assist in the installation of antenna arrays
  • Ability to assist in ground and aerial fiber optic, RF, and Coax connections
  • Properly test, label, and document all systems upon completion
  • Must be a hard worker with an ambition to learn and develop
  • Must possess a strong initiative
  • Perform other duties as assigned.·

Position Requires:

  • Previous inspections experience
  • 0-3 years’ experience operating equipment, reading blueprints and schematics, using tools and materials, and employing best practices used in the installation, repair, and maintenance of telecommunications tower systems
  • 0-3 years’ proven experience coordinating, constructing, and installing all tower types
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and solve problems
  • Ability to work within defined project guidelines and meet deadlines, schedules, and deliverable dates without issue
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations
  • Knowledge of tower assembly & erection, along with the various cellular, microwave, and radio systems installed on towers is preferred
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and be able to obtain a DOT card and any other required State/Federal/Local license requirements
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable climbing and working over 150 ft and up to elevated heights of 2000 ft, with a majority of work performed at 400 ft or less

Physical Demands and Work Site Conditions:

  • Able to sit for extended periods of time, walk, stand, crawl, ability to use hands and fingers extensively
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees repetitively
  • Ability to lift over 75 lbs. regularly
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges, and the ability to differentiate between colors
  • Ability to climb to heights in excess of 150’
  • Be prepared to work in hot and cold outdoor weather for extended periods
  • Ability to travel 3-4 weeks at a time
  • Many tools are repetitive use and must be able to handle and maintain on the job site
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under time constraints, pressure, and stress
