Telecom Technician I
Full-time Posted Jun, 22Highpoint Industries is hiring a Telecom Technician I team member to support telecom construction projects in and around Texas. This is an entry-level to early-career field position for candidates who are dependable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in a construction environment.
The Telecom Technician I will assist Foremen, Top Hands, and senior crew members with site work, material handling, installation support, cleanup, photo documentation, and general telecom construction tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with telecom construction and field installation tasks.
- Support tower crews, civil crews, electrical support crews, and closeout activities as directed.
- Load, unload, organize, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with grounding, cabling, mounts, hardware, conduit, trenching support, site cleanup, and general labor tasks.
- Participate in daily JHAs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Use PPE correctly and follow all Highpoint safety requirements.
- Learn proper fall protection, tool use, material handling, and telecom construction practices.
- Assist with jobsite photos and basic documentation.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow Foreman and Top Hand direction.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or jobsite concerns immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Construction, telecom, electrical, tower, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outdoors in Texas heat, cold, rain, and changing conditions.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10.
- Prior telecom, tower, electrical, civil, or construction experience.
- Basic hand tool and power tool experience.
- Comfort working around heights.
- Interest in becoming a climber, Top Hand, or Foreman.
- First Aid/CPR.
