Tower Technician
Full-time Posted Jan, 09- Abide by all state and federal safety regulations and standards (OSHA, ANSI, Company, Client, etc.) while working in an efficient and productive manner.
- Ensure that Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) requirements are identified, documented and followed.
- Daily inspection of PPE, OPE, PFAS, & rigging equipment before use.
- Observe and report possible compound / equipment defects or hazards.
- Assist Top Hand and Crew Lead in site, material, and truck/trailer preparations for the day.
- Daily cleaning/organization of truck/trailer and restocking material.
- Daily climbing tower/structures to complete job tasks. Structures to include monopoles, self supports, guyed towers, water towers, rooftops, etc.
- Safely and efficiently complete repairs and upgrades at elevated heights. Install telecom equipment and materials to include mounts, microwaves, radios, antennas and lines on towers and structures.
- Accurately follow instructions and complete assigned course of action in accordance with scope of work and methods of procedures (MOPs). Interpret various documents (e.g. blueprints, diagrams, manufacturer specifications, etc.) to ensure proper installation of antenna systems using technical expertise, and knowledge of blueprints and diagrams.
- Assist overall job on ground as well, to include rigging, hoisting, and preparing equipment for installation. All while maintaining site cleanliness and a safe work environment.
- Serve as a rescue climber if and when needed.
- At times, lift more than 70lbs.
- Demonstrate mechanical/technical skills in a safe and efficient manner.
- Abide by all SkyTower policies and procedures.
- Keep safety and 100% tie-off a number ONE priority. Always work towards training and certifications for tower related work.
